Details of the lathing, flashing and vapor barrier.

Here's how we did it:

Window openings are wrapped with a rubber membrane before windows are set

Most windows on new houses and remodels are installed poorly.

A copper counter flashing for a copper roof is put on before the stucco.

A copper counter flashing for a copper roof is put on before the stucco.

Flashing is then overlapped with tarpaper and stucco. This avoids having to walk on a copper roof to do the stucco.

Bottoms are terminated with a 7/8" plaster stop (casing bead).

Weep holes are drilled into the stop.

They quit making metal weep grounds. I would rather drill my own than use plastic.

Pipes are sealed with red stucco tape to the tar paper

Pipes are sealed with red stucco tape to the tar paper.

This is a frequent area of rot. Sealing the pipes after the stucco is done with an ugly glob of caulk is absurd.

avoids cracking the stucco putting on the light

3/4" plaster rings are put on the sheathing.

This makes a nice job and avoids cracking the stucco putting on the light.

Zip wall (painted OSB) is spaced 1/8" and sealed with flashing tape.

I have seen electric meters fall off the wall on EIFS houses because the sheathing had rotted

Electric meter is mounted on a piece of PVC and flashed with metal flashing.
