AFTER: An attractive stucco entrance.
The finish, ofcourse, is REAL portland cement and REAL sand. The color is "tumbleweed" from Expo stucco.

Stucco done by the competition replaced
for Jarman Company
in Washington, DC

This wing on an 8 year old house had severe rot,
due to the fact they put the rubber membrane roof on after the stucco was done.

What I have to say about rubber membrane roofs.

The windows didn't have flashing on the top
Photo shows the original stucco cut back, roof membrane put on, and copper counter flashing.
We patched the stucco overlapping the counter
flashing.

Windows on the most of the house needed replacement. The windows didn't have flashing
on the top.

Synthetic
                stucco finish in Washington DC


REAL cement
                and sand finish
Synthetic finish is brittle and badly deteriorated after 8 short years. The house had a one inch thick cement basecoat and a fake (synthetic) finish, which doesn't last.

After the framing is repaired, two layers of tarpaper and metal lath are put on.
Of course, we put on a REAL cement and sand finish that will painted to match the rest of the house.  MORE

Hardy board is coated with stucco. The challenge
was to bond the mortar to the hardy board.
Tired brick pavers are covered with metal lath and stucco.

Steps have a new lease on life with one inch
thick cement mortar and a color cement finish.

Mecho is styling and profiling with a home made cardboard shade hat
.

The challenge here was to bond mortar to the slick cement type board, and put the mortar on thin
for a reveal.

We put on chicken wire (poultry netting) and
put a lot of flex-con in the mortar for adhesion and strength.
