Color stucco house in Bethesda.
Details of the Brown coat.

Here's how we did it:

The brown coat is where we fill out and straighten the walls.

Wood strips are nailed up for the outside corners.

Wood strips on the water table are set with a level.

Wall is filled and straightened in between the strips.

This recess is for the moulding at the water table.

Strip is wedged in place.

Panels above the water tables are done the same way.

Note the recesses left for the mouldings.

Walls are straight and almost 1 inch thick.

Cold joint is painted with a mixture of Flex-con and cement.

This prevents edge cracking. This mix has no sand and is left rough.
