Chimney stucco
Wesley Heights
in Washington, DC
How we did it:
BEFORE: Copper cap drained water right into the chimney.
The stucco was pretty solid, just cracked really bad. The stucco is chipped for a bonding coat.
Stucco is cut back, new flashing put on, and our weeps.
The first band on the chimney cap is formed with styrofoam and filled in.
The second band is formed and filled. The diamond design is marked off and tape put on.
A view of the finished chimney top. The diamond design decorates the rectangle.
A second projection is made using our weep stops and filled in with Rapid set mortar mix.
Bands are finished with white portland and white sand. Our bands drain out the bottom and hide the patch.
