1926 Spanish Colonial house
Alexandria, Virginia
Here's how we did it:
A view of the badly deteriorated cinder block. Damage was caused by water running off the roof and from lack of weeps on the balcony.
We knocked off what came off easily and chipped up what didn't.
Wall was brown coated with our super mortar. We mixed mortar with half water and half strong bond.
Mortar with an acrylic admixture not only bonds well, but develops incredible strength.
Ceramic tubes are called "thimbles". We used these for weeps for the patio floor.
Thimbles are put in for weeps for the patio floor. This wall should last more than 96 years this time. The thimbles compliment the spanish tile roof.
Other areas were also redone.
Since the concrete was done after the stucco, we put on metal flashing before the new stucco. Note the gaps we left for
the weep pipes.
Finish coat is white portland cement and white sand.
