Here's how we did it:


We put a one by four under the siding. The wall is straightened to the one by four.
Later the one by is pulled out and new flashing is put on.

Fast forward to finished wall. One by pulled out and flashing put in.

Chimney shoulder is coated with mortar with plenty of flex-con, an acryiic bonder..

Flagstone is drilled with a hammer drill for the bolts.

Concrete bolts are put in around the edge and hidden with flashing.

Bolts are hidden with flashing and mortar.

Finished chimney with a flagstone chimney shoulder. Stones are less porous than brick or stucco.

Weeps are made by drilling holes in casing bead, AKA plaster stop.

Weeps are set at bottom of the wall, leaving a gap for drainage.

Color finish is put on and rubbed with a rubber float.
