I drew the profile and printed it out on Heavy stock
I designed the ring with LibreOffice Draw and Kolour
paint, which is like MSPaint, only for Linux. I had to
mention I'm a Linux user.

I traced the image on metal and cut and filed the knife in a vise.
After six hours of cutting and filing, I kicked back and
took a break. Almost finished.

Next I assembled the swing arm.
The arm is ready to bolt to the ceiling. There was six
inches of snow on the ground, so there was nothing to do
anyway.

I cut off one flange and I had a counter flashing and
drip edge.
