We finished the house from last update. Here, a tool is made to run the band on top of the parapet wall.
The band on the parapet is white portland cement and white sand. No cheap styrofoam.
What is a Spanish style house without a parapet? Finished parapet shows the finished band and the ring we made. The top has a metal coping over a rubber membrane.
A swing arm is made to run the ring.
Mission finish is white portland cement and white sand troweled smooth. It is impossible to trowel
cement and sand as smooth as plaster, so there are variations in the color and texture. This natural mottling
shows of the real cement stucco finish.

Decorative band on the chimney is angled down to shed water.
Chimney is rounded on top to shed water. The band at the top is not only decorative, but is a drip edge that extends the life of the chimney. Note the quarters embedded in the top.
This quarter commemorates Dr. Pauli Murray, an activist for women's rights and civil rights.
A foot of snow stopped us for a while.
Taking scaffold down.
A view of the mission finish. The sand in the finish is medium grit crushed quartz.
Finish has a stone-like look and feel.
Stucco window sills are angled for water run off. Level window sills collect water like a funnel
and deteriorate what is underneath.
The leaves changed color late this year due to global warming. I took this picture October 28th, and the leaves are just starting to turn color.
Finally finished.
