A lot of the trim had no flashing but is in remarkably good shape, even though the original 149 year old paint had peeled off. The old wood was grey, but is still solid.
Stucco replaced on this 1926 townhouse in Washington, DC
BEFORE: Wall had sloppy patches and loose areas indicating there was rot underneath. Leaky scuppers and
leaky coping joints caused most of the problem.
Framing had completely rotted out. Sheetrock inside was held up by one by fours and screws.
We put in new two by fours.
We used one by 8's for the sheathing like the original. Also we put on flashing over the windows and
sealed the sides with protecto-tape.
Everything was sprayed with mold killer.
New flashing on roof. Window trim sealed with rubber tape.
We were able to get the scratch and brown done before the storm.
