After
the
scratch
coat has set up about 2 days, the brown coat is put on. |
The EIFS cloth
and finish was put directly on the concrete. Here, the wall is chipped to prepare for a bonding coat using flex con, an acrylic bonder in the mortar. |
After the
bonding coat sets up, the wall is filled the rest of the way. |
The roof is
covered with tarpaper to keep it clean. |
A horizontal screed is set
using a string line. For more about screeds, click here. |
Vertical
screeds are set about 6 feet apart between the horizontal screed and the weep screed at the bottom. |
. |
|
Now
it
is
just a matter of filling in between the screeds and rodding the
wall with a 6 foot rod. |
Walls
are
straight.
If you can see the string line, it was set with a water level to form the band. |
The
brown
coat
is finished. Next the details are browned and the finish coat is put on. To go to the details page, click here. To go to the flashing and lath page, click here. Please check back to see the finished project. |
