3/4 inch channel iron is spaced 12 inches on center, not 16 inches. 3/4 iron is supported every 4 feet.

Heavy 3.4 lath is used on our ceilings to prevent sag.

Brown coat is Portland cement and sand.

Finish coat is white portland cement, white lime, and white sand.
Stucco replaced on this 1926 house
in Washington, DC

Rot isn't too bad. Lath and stucco are stripped down to the old wood sheating boards.

Flashing is put over stone water table, and overlapped with protecto wrap and tarpaper. This should never leak and rot.

Heavy dash on texture matches the original house.

Stucco replaced. I couldn't stand back far enough to take a good picture. Hope you can see what is going on.

Umpteen layers of peeling paint make scraping and painting impractical.

Wall has chips down to the old basecoat.
Please click to see our chipping and bonding method on Stucco News.

Walls are coated with cement mortar and flex-con, an adhesive admixture.

Bag stipple finish matches the old 1926 texture.
