Pebble dash stucco replaced in the Shepherd Park area
Washington, DC
Pebble dash stucco replaced on this 1923 house in Washington, DC.
A close up of the finish with half inch pea gravel.
The original house was wood clapboard siding. It is unusual to see welded wire lath this deteriored.
The reason was soft, crumbly lime that never set up and was way too porous.
A plastic spatter shield keeps mortar and debris away from the neighbors.

Plaster walls and ceilings are painted with pink plaster weld and coated with veneer basecoat.
White skip trowel texture on the ceiling is done first.
